MARIA'S MOMENTS
Every summer I go to the beach. I've been doing this since I was a little girl. My daughter, her friend from college, and I drove down together the week of the fourth of July. I visited my son at his lifeguard stand and met his rookie trainee. Most of the time, I read books feeling the sand between my toes. I checked out the annual craft fair at the Wildwood boardwalk. There's nothing like a little retail therapy. During our time on the Jersey shore, we dined out and went out for drinks, allowing me to unwind a bit. It was a time for celebration, a time to say goodbye, and a time to embrace new beginnings. It was also a relaxing time to focus on something other than my Not Again book series. After spending a week down the shore, I'm back at my authorship feeling refreshed.

As much as I like my job as a substitute teacher, I'm enjoying my time off from work this summer. I'm taking advantage of my loose schedule as I don't have to get up at the crack of dawn when I'm not working. My goal is to get done as much of my authorship ahead of schedule, so I don't have to force myself to work on it after a long day's work once school starts back up. So far so good. I feel like I can breathe a little bit better now.

NOT AGAIN TURNS 5!
In honor of Not Again, the first book of my series turning 5, we are going to celebrate! I'm having a birthday bash in both of my Facebook groups simultaneously. You're all invited! On August 10, we will toast to me being a published novelist. Not Again, my debut novel, was released in mid-August of 2019. Little did I know one book would turn into more published writing when I set out to write a novel. That was not my initial intent. It was more about leaving a legacy, something my family could be proud of, something I could be proud of. Instead, the publishing world became my world. What a journey this has been! KD Sherrinford was born and raised in Preston in the UK. She now lives on The Fylde Coast with her husband John and their two children.
An avid reader from an early age, KD loved the mystery writers, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie were her favourites. She read the entire Conan Doyle Cannon by age 13.
KD was always fascinated by the iconic character Irene Adler and felt disappointed when Irene failed to appear in any further stories after Doyle's "A Scandal in Bohemia".
It was after a visit to the Sherlock Holmes museum in 2019 that KD finally found inspiration to begin her first novel, and encouraged by her daughter Katie, she started work on her debut novel "Song for Someone". The book garnered five-star reviews from Literary Titan, Book Viral, Readers Favorite, and The Historical Fiction Company describing KD's debit novel as "An evocative masterpiece, and a book that stands out in literary fiction."
